The film will start as young Dika, who also has a nick name: Kambing (Goat), ‘forced’ to continue his study in Adelaide Australia, taking Finance as his major. A direction of life he has never imagined before. The beginning of the journey to find his real existence in this world, his self identity.
The main plot of this film will generally unfold the real life events that took place during his academic life in Adelaide, as well as his problematic long distance relationship with his girl, Kebo, which leads him to having some financial issues. Issues which Dika tries to take care of, but in ways that put him more in to troubles.
Adelaide plays a significant role in Dika’s life. The place where he discovers his real gift and more than that: himself. It’s the turning point of his life. And much of these he owes to the experience he’s had on his campus, University of Adelaide. Where he made friends, made social contacts with local culture and lifestyle, where he can express his distinctiveness as well as where he learnt to compare and measure the differences between his own culture and that of others. Then made really good and positive views and progression toward this. On this campus Dika met Harianto, an authentic Javanese student, which then became his best friend. He also met a lady-lecturer whose look, talk and action more like a soldier than a teacher-figure.
Other character like Dika’s Mum, is the reflection of a typical parent who puts so much hope - as well as pressure -to her child as to become “somebody “, thinking that her way is the only way and other ways just don’t exist. Dika, at the end, proofs her to be ‘slightly’ incorrect.
Dika’s Dad and Dika’s siblings are the enriching characters in this film, brings out more of the uplifting comedy feel toward the film.
