In 2011, we’re excited and proud to welcome back the popular and respected Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) to ACMI.

Now in its sixth year, and the third at ACMI, the IFF joins a growing list of film festivals that call us home and we’re exceedingly proud of our reputation as the place in Melbourne to see the very best of world cinema.

Through our own annual program of Australian and international cinema, and through the programs of our festival partners, we provide diverse audiences with unparalleled ways to engage with, and celebrate, screen culture.

The IFF is one of our most popular annual festivals and as the largest celebration of Indonesian screen culture held in Australia, it provides Melburnians and visitors to Victoria with a fantastic opportunity to experience uniquely Indonesian stories on the big screen.

My biggest gratitude to Allah SWT for 6th Indonesian Film Festival in Melbourne, Australia organized by students and the Indonesian film community in Australia joined under Indonesian Film Festival Inc.

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the hard work and sincerity of all parties involved in making this festival a success.

For Indonesia, the film industry goes beyond serving entertainment that positions film as a cultural industry but as well as acting as a platform for building the nation’s identity and character. It is with great hope that the 6th IFF 2011 will discuss and give appreciation towards works rich in local cultural values and uplifting it to a global discussion.

Welcome to the 6th Indonesian Film Festival!

I am excited to invite you to join us in The Largest Celebration of Indonesian Screen Culture in Australia. This year is very special, as the annual Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) is coming back to Melbourne for the sixth times. You can expect a bigger and better festival, and not to forget, a diverse range of film showcasing during the festival. With a variety of genres this year, we are sure you will have an exciting week enjoying our program of eight films.

Through this Festival, we want to show our support and appreciation to all Indonesian filmmakers for their hard work and dedication in the industry. I hope that the festival will bring a unique excitement and color to the city of Melbourne during the winter cultural events, and hope that everyone will get to know Indonesia better through its cinematic industry and film culture.
