I am pleased to announce the opening of the Indonesian Film Festival, now into its 5th year.
The Indonesian Film Festival is now celebrated in two major cities of Australia (Melbourne and Sydney). This year, we are proud to present once more to our audience, only the finest selections in the arena of Indonesian cinematography and film-making. Our program will feature an even more diverse array of genres, ranging from mainstream major motion pictures to classic art house cinema, a truly exciting sensation for all cinema lovers out there. The theme for this year’s film festival revolves around an in-depth look into the different faces, problems and complications that women of varying backgrounds and all walks of life face in the context of modern contemporary Indonesia, where tradition, religiosity and emancipation are often evoked in conflicts with one another. We hope you are as excited and thrilled as we are, in the prospect of discovering new cultural sensations and meanings within each and every single oeuvres presented in our festival program this year. Have a wonderful 5th Indonesian Film Festival. |

We’re very excited to welcome back the Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) to ACMI for another year in 2010. Here at ACMI, we’re very proud of our position as the home of world cinema in Melbourne and year in year out we provide audiences with truly diverse ways to celebrate screen culture. Our own outstanding program of Australian and world cinema is generously and creatively complemented by a fantastic annual calendar of international festivals, of which the Indonesian Film Festival is one of our most popular. It is after all the largest celebration of Indonesian screen culture held in Australia and we’re proud that it happens here at ACMI every year. As a strong supporter of the IFF we look forward to welcoming existing and new fans to ACMI to explore and share in a fantastically diverse and entertaining program of Indonesian film. Melbourne is Australia’s home of arts and culture and festivals such as the IFF provide truly unique cultural experiences for Melburnians and visitors to Victoria - and this year’s festival is no exception. Enjoy. |
