IFF Inc. together with VILTA and Wesley College proudly present the Indonesian Film Festival Educational Program. The program is especially dedicated for teachers and students of Bahasa Indonesia throughout Victoria. It is our highest aspiration that the program will not only give our participants an exciting way of learning Bahasa Indonesia, but also take the audience on an amazing virtual journey to the heart of Indonesia.
Maida’s House is a story about how an idealistic girl name Maida struggles to save a house and discovers that there is a long history attached to the house. It is a powerful fusion of the contemporary and the historical Indonesia. It will give you a deep understanding of the ‘real’ Indonesia: a beautiful multicultural country with all its complexities. It is where the cultural diversity acts as a double-edged sword, as it simultaneously enrichens the culture but can also threaten to destroy the unity of Indonesia, while poverty and lack of empowerment for ordinary people are contentious issues.
